Guernsey Film Fest future secured

The future of the Guernsey Film Fest has been secured for the next three years, ahead of the second annual event taking place in October. A sponsorship agreement between the film festival organisers - Lars Janssen and Charlotte Dawn Potter - and Delimited IT Solutions means the costs of the 2023, '24, and '25 events are covered. This year's festival is being staged over the weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 October at the Mallard Cinema. Like last year's inaugural event the festival is open to the public with free to all of the films. There will be around 25 films screened over the two days covering a range of genres, around the theme 'folklore' with international and local films and documentaries among them.

Filmmakers Mr Janssen and Ms Potter hope other creatives will submit their work for the chance to be screened too with prizes for winners in each category plus an audience 'Golden Donkey Award' which will be awarded to the audience's favourite film.

Mr Janssen said Delimited support's means they can continue their work to make the Guernsey Film Fest a success.

“We are extremely happy that Delimited is involved. We feel very strongly that the festival should be entirely free to the public and this support will help us continue to achieve that goal. Having a longer-term commitment to the sponsorship arrangement also gives the event a secure footing into the future and we are looking forward to working with the Delimited team.”

Delimited is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and, to mark this milestone the team is undertaking 10 activities during 2023, including charitable support, pro bono work, and sponsorships.

Justin Guilbert, Delimited’s Managing Director, said the Guernsey Film Fest deal fits perfectly into this.

“All of the Delimited team are big film fans and we were keen to support something within the local arts scene so when we were approached last year for some last-minute assistance we were very happy to help. The three-year agreement will enable us to work with Lars and Dawn to develop the event into an even bigger festival over time. They both work incredibly hard and we know that they will deliver a high quality, professional festival.”
